Gigi Campanile

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & FOUNDER

Born in Tricase, Gigi began his career as a photographer in Tricase at a very young age, he moved to Rome and worked for the most important photographic agencies in the entertainement until the end of the ’92s. He then moved to the USA: first to New York and then to Los Angeles and builds a name and a career working for the world’s leading international magazines dealing with celebrities & entertainment around the world. In 1997 he founded the magazine “La Dolce Vita”, a bilingual monthly that promotes Italian culture in Los Angeles. In 1998 he was founder and executive director of the first Italian Film Festival in Los Angeles “Laifa – Los Angeles Italian Film Awards”. In 2004 he starts and directs the Salento International Film Festival, based in Tricase in the heart of Salento, in its 18th edition. He works as a film producer and distributor as well as an organizer of international film events in different parts of the world.
