Directed by Robert Wichrowski | Poland 2022 | 75 min | Italian Premiere | Language: Polish with Italian subtitles
The main character in this feature is Karol Weber. He was born in the mid-1970s. As a boy he lived in a small town with his parents. They received a house in exchange for work at a local school. His mother was an art teacher, dad was taking a photography course in the same school.
We meet Karol in the middle of three very important periods in his life: at age 7, when his mother left him. At age 18, when he fell in love for the first time, and contemporary at age 47, when he celebrated 25 years as a photographer. After his photography exhibition he obtained information about his father’s death.Karol buried him. During his train ride, he has many flashbacks and memories of the most important moments in his life.
It is a kind of catharsis. This return to the hometown is something between dream and reality, between life and death, he enters the labyrinth and it seems that nothing is in its place. It would seem that our memory is illusory and most of the time we remember our own versions of events.
