Salento International Film Festival packed the Esperia Palace Hotel in Lido Marini (Lecce) Italy Sunday Night September 26, at the Awards Ceremony Party for the 1st annual Salento Int.l Film Festival.

Academy Award Winner Cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, and the Academy Award nominee Production Designer Bruno Rubeo (Merchant of Venice) received the "FINIBUS TERRAE AWARD 2004" which recognizes the artistic excellence, professional accomplishment and dedication to cinema. The Italian Actor Enrico Lo Verso and John Savage received the "SALENTO AWARD 2004" for his accomplishments in film. More than 150 filmmakers attended the 1st Salento International Film Festival from around the world.

Il piacere nascosto, by Antonio Barocci won the Salento Film & Video Grant 2006. A short-film set in Lecce. Its the story of a man whose job is to tidy and clean up the town in preparation for the Minister's visit.
