SIFF 2007 GRANT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SHORT-FILMS SCRIPTS

THE BEST IDEAS BECOME FILMS

The CineSalento in collaboration with the Salento International Film Festival, launches the SALENTO FILM & VIDEO GRANT a competition awarding a prize to the best scripts, in which it aims to provide professional and technical help to the new young authors of today who want to to show their creativity and produce for the first time.
The result : A Short Film produced with the budget of 10.000 Euro and lasting 10 minutes.
The competition is open to all the countries of the world with no age limit, where the stories must be set and shot in Salento, Italy. The submitted scripts must be written in English and Italian. An international jury will award the winning script.

Competition Main Features

• The subject is free.
• The competition is open to everybody and to all countries of the world
• The expiry date is on the 15 of June 2007
• The required time of the script is no longer than 10 minutes
• The script must be written in English and Italian
• The entrance-fee is 50.00 Euro, by cheque payable to CineSalento or by transfer order to CineSalento;

Required Conditions.

All the participants entering the competition must present a dossier of one copy only containing the following:

• The Registration form
• The Author’s or Authors’ C.V.
• If required, the film director C.V.
• The story summary 10 lines limit
• The Synopsis 1 page limit
• The description of the characters 1 page limit
• The Author’s or Authors’ Purpose note 1 page limit

The purpose note briefly explains the author’s point of view about his own subject, his dramaturgy and his style, the film production conditions as he imagines them etc…

Among all participants, 10 finalists will be selected by a jury.
The finalists will personally be informed.
The winner will be announced during the Salento International Film Festival.
Both the Salento International Film logo and the wording Production granted by Salento Film & Video Grant, are required on the heading titles and on the advertisements.

Il piacere nascosto, by Antonio Barocci won the Salento Film & Video Grant 2006. A short-film set in Lecce. Its the story of a man whose job is to tidy and clean up the town in preparation for the Minister's visit.
