THE
KURDS A PEOPLE WITHOUT COUNTRY
History
has taught us that the Kurds are descendants of the ancient Medes, a population
of indo-Iranian origins and the Zoroastrianism religion (converting to
Islam from VII century A.D.) that made its way from Central Asia to the
mountains of Iran around 614 B.C. Over time this people were denied unity
due to social, geographic and economical differences; this irredeemable
division of the Kurd society has played into the hands of the more powerful
states in the area with interests in using the Kurd tribes as a buffering
tactic with other states, and to exploit the rich Kurdistan resources
of enormous oil fields and a number of materials like steel, silver, uranium
and particularly chrome.

The Pensioner Trade Union and with the Federation of the Lavoratori dell'agro-Industria

the recovery of songs about the work and struggle of the region of Apulia.

This
