SALENTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

CINESALENTO, in association with LAIFA (Los Angeles Italian Film Awards), Presents on September 8 trough September 16, 2007, in Tricase - Italy, the 4th edition of the "SALENTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL", a cultural and glamorous happening in Salento, the oriental door on the heel of Italy.

The Salento International Film Festival (SIFF) promotes Italian and international independent films to the public, in recognition of the fact that movies are the most powerful form of cultural communication and link between cultures' and peoples'.

The event consists of nine days of film festival 'premieres' including retrospective screenings, feature films, short feature films, and documentaries from the international artistic panorama; all of which shall be presented to the public.

During these nine days, an international jury of film industry professionals will be evaluating the competing works. Awards will be given to feature, short, and documentary films.

The event is organize by CineSalento in association with LAIFA – Los Angeles Italian Film Awards with the support of Puglia Region, Province of Lecce and the City of Tricase, sponsored by Banca Carime.

Il piacere nascosto, by Antonio Barocci won the Salento Film & Video Grant 2006. A short-film set in Lecce. Its the story of a man whose job is to tidy and clean up the town in preparation for the Minister's visit.
